TORNADO OUTBREAK IMMINENT: Level 4 “MODERATE RISK” Issued for Mid-Atlantic! Is Your City Next?
MONDAY, MARCH 16, 2026 – A dangerous and life-threatening weather setup is unfolding across the Eastern Seaboard. Atmospheric instability has reached critical levels, and a “Particularly Dangerous Situation” (PDS) is possible.
🔴 THE DANGER ZONE: ARE YOU IN THE PATH?
The bullseye for today’s severe weather includes some of the most populated corridors in the U.S.:
Washington D.C. & Northern Virginia (Richmond, Arlington, Alexandria)
Strong, Long-Track Tornadoes: The wind shear profile is supportive of EF2 to EF4 tornadoes. These are not “brief spin-ups”—these are violent, fast-moving storms capable of leveling homes.
Hurricane-Force Wind Gusts: Straight-line winds exceeding 75–80 MPH will likely cause widespread power outages and structural damage.
Destructive Hail: Large, “gorilla-sized” hail (up to 2.5 inches in diameter) is expected, posing a massive threat to vehicles and property.
🛡️ LIFE-SAVING ACTIONS: DO THIS NOW
“A Moderate Risk is a rare and serious event. This is the day to have your ‘Go-Bag’ ready and your safe room identified.”
ACTIVATE ALERTS: Ensure your smartphone’s Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) are ON. Do not rely on outdoor sirens; you may not hear them indoors.
KNOW YOUR SHELTER: If a Tornado Warning is issued, move to the lowest floor, in an interior room, away from windows. Basements are best.
HEAD PROTECTION: Use a helmet (bicycle, motorcycle, or batting helmet) to prevent the #1 cause of tornado fatalities: head trauma from flying debris.
ABANDON MOBILE HOMES: If you live in a mobile home or trailer, leave now for a sturdy, permanent building. These structures cannot withstand the winds forecast for today.
TIMING: The window of maximum danger opens at 2:00 PM EST and will continue through the late evening hours as the cold front sweeps toward the coast.
