Gardener's lunar calendar for December 2024: what to do in winter

Planting Calendar
In December, nature sinks into its winter slumber, but that doesn't mean garden work is over. This is the time to plan, care for dormant plants and prepare for the new season. On frost-free days, dry, damaged or diseased branches can be pruned. Formative pruning should be postponed until spring.

If severe frosts hit, we advise you to mulch the tree trunk and wrap the trunks of young saplings with burlap or special materials. If snow has fallen, spread it evenly over the area so that it protects the roots from frost. In December, regularly check the cover of perennials, roses and grapes to avoid damage from moisture or strong winds.

On warm days, you can water conifers if the soil is too dry. In anticipation of the holidays, decorate the garden with branches of conifers, or create winter compositions. Using the lunar calendar will help gardeners to properly organize all winter affairs, taking into account the phases of the moon, which affect the growth and condition of plants. In the calendar from Weatherman you will learn which days are favorable for plant care, pruning or soil preparation, as well as how to avoid mistakes.
