UK Heavy rain to risk flooding
The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for the eastern coast of Scotland, Northern Ireland, and South East England on Saturday and Sunday. As heavy rain looms over the weekend, there's a significant risk of flooding in areas that were already battered by Storm Babet. These conditions are expected to bring between 50mm and 80mm of rain, accompanied by 50 mph to 70mph winds to parts of Scotland.
For Scotland, the rain warnings are in effect until 12 am on Monday. In the south and east of England, the rain warning lasts from 12 am on Sunday to 12 am on Monday, covering regions such as eastern England, London, Kent, Sussex, and Essex. This could result in between 15mm and 30mm of rainfall.
In a recent incident, Priory Meadow Shopping Centre in Hastings, East Sussex, had to be evacuated due to flooding. Temperatures across the UK are expected to range from 10 to 13 degrees Celsius in the north to highs of 16 degrees Celsius in the south.
