The neighboring nation of Oman is also grappling with the aftermath of heavy flooding, with a reported death toll rising to 18 and several people still missing.
Heavy rains and strong winds have battered parts of the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast including Margate and Uvongo.
On Monday, April 8th, officials reported heavy winds, storms, and torrential rain battering South Africa’s coastal province of Western Cape, home to Cape Town.
The Met Office reports: “As a low-pressure system, driving gales in some coastal areas, moves eastward into the North Sea this afternoon, a brief period of calmer weather is expected as high pressure briefly settles in, causing winds to abate.
