Magnetic storms in July 2024 : Calendar by day
Minor magnetic storms are expected (K-index 3) 14-16 and 20-21 July.
A magnetic storm is a temporary but significant disturbance in the Earth’s magnetic field caused by emissions of solar wind. These emissions, consisting of charged particles, can affect the Earth’s magnetosphere, deforming it and causing vibrations.
Minor magnetic storms are expected (K-index 3) 14-16 and 20-21 July.
The peak of solar activity is expected in June 2024. This means that there will be more sunspots, flares, and coronal mass ejections on the Sun. Magnetic storms may intensify on days with increased solar activity.
