This event is part of a series of recent earthquakes across China. Notably, on December 18, a powerful magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck Jishishan County, Linxia Prefecture, Gansu Province, followed by over 200 aftershocks within 6 hours, resulting in thousands of casualties.
