Waterspout Outbreak Hits Northern Italy and Sardinia

A significant waterspout outbreak occurred off the coasts of northern Italy and Sardinia in August 2024. This unusual weather event led to the formation of multiple waterspouts in a short period.

The International Centre for Waterspout Research (ICWR) has confirmed at least 18 waterspouts in the region on August 19th alone.
