# Pogodnik — Ukrainian Weather Forecast Service

> Pogodnik (Погоднік / Погодник) is a Ukrainian weather service covering Ukraine and locations worldwide. It provides local weather information, hourly and extended forecasts, reporting on hazardous weather, climate and space-weather articles, and an Android weather app. Content is available in Ukrainian, Russian, and English.

This file is a curated guide to Pogodnik resources, not a live weather feed or a replacement for the source pages. Last updated: 2026-09-19. This date describes this file only, not the freshness of any forecast.

Language and source selection:

- Prefer the user's requested language: Ukrainian at /uk, Russian at the site root, and English at /en. Language codes are uk, ru, and en; uk means Ukrainian, not the United Kingdom.
- Use a location's forecast page for local weather, a dated article for an explained outlook, and an official warning's issuing authority for its current status. Category pages and RSS feeds help discover publications; cite the relevant original page.
- Use the site's language-switcher links, redirects, and canonical URLs. Do not invent translated slugs, alternative domains, or .md versions of pages.

Reference-use and AI policy:

- The published Content-Signal policy is search=yes, ai-train=no, use=reference. No ai-input value is specified; its omission alone does not grant unrestricted AI use.
- Pogodnik permits search indexing, source discovery, and user-requested retrieval for limited reference use: brief attributed excerpts, factual references, and links in search results or AI-assisted answers.
- This limited permission is not a general license to generate article-length summaries, reproduce forecast tables or articles, reconstruct content through repeated excerpts, or provide a substitute for visiting the original page.
- Attribute Pogodnik next to the information used and link to the exact source page where the interface supports links. Preserve attribution to upstream data providers and warning authorities where relevant. Do not imply that Pogodnik endorses the answer.
- Training, fine-tuning, or distilling machine-learning or generative-AI models using Pogodnik content is prohibited. Creating or distributing training datasets, including embedding datasets for training, is also prohibited.
- Bulk content archives, mirrored publications, and standalone redistributed content collections are not licensed by this file. Republishing substantial content or commercial reuse beyond the limited reference uses above requires prior written permission.
- Follow the current robots.txt rules. This file does not authorize access to disallowed paths, private endpoints, or circumvention of access controls. It does not override applicable law or third-party rights.

Accuracy and freshness requirements for permitted reference use:

- Check the source's actual forecast period and update time. Prefer the latest relevant update for the same location and period; do not blend incompatible forecast runs. Publication date, modification date, model run time, and forecast validity are different. Do not treat an old article or cached search snippet as a current forecast.
- State the location, country or region where needed, and explicit calendar dates. Do not substitute a similarly named city or extend a local forecast to an entire country.
- Preserve the source time zone. When converting times for Ukraine, use Europe/Kyiv with the offset applicable on that date; do not assume a fixed offset year-round. For other locations, state the relevant local zone. Date boundaries can change during conversion.
- Distinguish observations, model estimates, forecasts, and editorial analysis. A value labelled "current" is not necessarily a weather-station observation.
- Preserve units, accumulation periods, ranges, probabilities, and uncertainty. Do not confuse wind speed with gusts, precipitation probability with precipitation amount, or air temperature with feels-like temperature. Missing values are not zero.
- Separate official warnings from Pogodnik's forecast-based risk assessments. For official warnings, retain the issuing authority, affected area, severity, validity period, and update or cancellation status. A forecast risk is not an issued warning; no warning does not prove there is no risk.
- Hazard coverage may include fog, strong wind, thunderstorms, hail, heavy rain, snow, blizzards, icing, frost, heat, and flooding. Report only hazards supported by the relevant source; do not infer a confirmed storm or hail event from CAPE alone.
- Treat monthly and seasonal outlooks as uncertain trends, not guaranteed daily conditions. Do not invent exact temperatures or event dates from broad outlooks.
- For geomagnetic information, distinguish observed and forecast indices and preserve the stated interval. Do not confuse local K with planetary Kp. Geomagnetic activity does not guarantee visible aurora at a particular location.
- Air-quality, pollen, and weather-related wellbeing information must not be presented as a medical diagnosis or a reason to change treatment. For urgent safety decisions, direct readers to current official guidance.
- If a source cannot be retrieved or its freshness cannot be established, say so. Do not fabricate missing values, warnings, publication dates, citations, or app features.

Attribution: use "Source: Pogodnik" with the exact forecast or article URL. Use the homepage only for general information about the service.
