In recent days, Australia has faced extreme weather conditions, especially in the state of New South Wales. On January 15, 2025, powerful thunderstorms with large hail, up to 4 cm in diameter, caused significant damage. Unfortunately, one person died and more than 200,000 households were left without power.<\/p>\n

Strong winds exceeding 120 km\/h caused trees to fall and buildings to be damaged. Sydney Airport temporarily suspended all flights, redirecting planes to alternative airports. In Kovra, a man in his 80s died when a tree fell on his car. In addition, four people were injured in the Riverina region due to the destruction of temporary shelters.<\/p>\n

According to weather forecasters, further adverse weather conditions are expected in the region in the coming days. In particular, strong winds are forecast in Sydney with a maximum temperature of about 22\u00b0C and a minimum of 19\u00b0C. In Newcastle, showers are expected with a maximum temperature of 24\u00b0C and a minimum of 19\u00b0C. In Wollongong, short-term rains are possible with temperatures ranging from 18\u00b0C to 23\u00b0C.<\/p>\n

According to the Australian Bureau of Meteorology, there is an increased likelihood of further thunderstorms, strong winds and rainfall in the region. Local residents are advised to be cautious, avoid traveling during bad weather and follow weather forecast updates.<\/p>\n
